A man insane enough to live with beasts
With more than 40 wines available by the glass, and over 200 bottles to choose from, 13.5% Wine Bar prides itself on providing oenophiles with a home in Baltimore. The assortment of ports, sherries, aperitifs, digestifs, beer, cocktails, and high-end liquors, however, means that their friends will be treated well, too. Located along The Avenue in the Hampden section of town, the restaurant also provides solid food options, with cheese plates, a hearty selection of snacks, and full dinner entrees parading out of the kitchen as palate-pleasing lining for the drinks themselves. It is perhaps genius that all of it is topped off with an atmosphere designed for lounging, complete with both bar stools and dining chairs that are startlingly comfortable, tempting even the busiest customer to stay just a short while longer.

This dive bar has been run by the same family for three generations (with the barstools to prove it). There's a jukebox that may or may not play your songs, cheap beer, a collection of miscreants and bikers at the bar, two pool tables and a loose interpretation of the smoking ban. Another saving grace: You'll often find the Tacos Garcia taco truck out back.
