The Nelson-Atkins is quite a destination with the intriguing remnants of cultures from all over the world, however the most striking room to me personally is the Impressionist room. It's a small room, and if you're not looking for it you might miss it. But inside are paintings from the Impressionist era. Some aren't so well known, but there is one of Monet's Water Lilies. It's gigantic, and looking at it automatically transports you to w a world of relaxation. There is a bench in the middle, practically beckoning to be used. You can sit on that bench for hours looking at the paintings around you, imagining the scenes being painted and really developing a feel for the art occurring within.
