Getting Soaked with Red Wine in Haro, Spain
Everyone in Haro, Spain turns purple on June 29th, doused with locally produced red wine (presumably, the lesser vintages). The source of the dousing is a huge wine fight, Batalla de Vino, where anyone in town is fair game. Thousands of litres of wine are spilled. Be prepared and carry a wineskin with some good squirt projection or come packing your own high-octane water gun. After the battle is over and your clothes have faded to a pinkish hue, head back to the city to gather around Paz Square where a cattle run caps the festivities. Bring a change of clothes.
