Kissing Stars in the Whalebone House
So, it’s your anniversary and you don’t know where to take your loved one. Have no fear. Surprise your dearest one with a weekend excursion down to Ocean Park, Washington; along the Long Beach Peninsula. Ocean Park is less than four square miles, but you’ll be charmed by the continuous sand beaches the Peninsula has to proffer; over 28 miles of drivable beach! Reserve a head of time and stay the evening at the ever charming Whalebone House Bed and Breakfast. Restored in 1889, this charismatic Victorian House got its name from the unusual white fence that surrounds the farmhouse. The vertebrae of a beached whale found in the early 1950’s made this home and unique location a historic place to visit according to the Washington Register of Historic Places. The rooms offer lovely antiques and heirlooms to gawk at and if you get the Louise Rice Room, you and your loved one can gaze (or kiss) under the constellation your bedroom skylight suggests you to do.
