Finding an Italian Wine Bar Oasis in San Francisco
As a sheep amongst the wolves, Uva Enoteca is a casual chic eatery located on San Francisco’s infamously grungy Haight Street. Uva Enoteca serves up classic Italian small bites with an all-Italian wine list. Saddle up to their white marble bar and enjoy watching the controlled chaos of their open kitchen or reserve a table for a romantic dinner in their rustic dining room with brick and white subway-style walls, dark wood floors, and red cedar tabletops. Executive Chef and proprietor Ben Hetzel based his small plate menu on the cuisine of classic Italian enotecas. His menu consists of sliced meats and cheeses (some of which are made in house); flatbread, pizzas, and pastas; and desserts like the ginger snap ice cream sandwich. Although Uva Enoteca encourages a family-style meal, their food makes it hard to share, even with your friends.
