Watching the Sunrise From the Seaside Mayan Ruins in Tulum, Mexico
You dig your toes into the snow-white sand and start your day watching the sun rise over the transparent turquoise Caribbean sea. On the jagged cliffs above, the Mayan city of Tulum was fortified much more than most with thick walls and watchtowers. And with real estate like this, it's certainly understandable. The views from the ruins of the coastline are dreamy. Linger longer than the tourists who trickle in on the whistlestop tour and spend the day (or better yet days) splashing around the shaded sandy coves tucked between the bluffs, far away from the sunburned Mayan Riviera crowds to the north.
