Wandering in Tlaquepaque's Sculpture Garden in Sedona, Arizona
Shaded by giant sycamore trees, Tlaquepaque is an arts and crafts village of shops and galleries in Sedona, Arizona. As you meander under arched alleyways and on cobblestoned walkways, you feel as if this place has been around for centuries. Stroll away from the center to the open-air sculpture garden, where you'll see a sampling of local and Southwestern art: colorful, spirited, and offbeat. The wired, curvy sculptures, whimsical bronze characters, and chairs and desks created out of slabs of rocks are highlights—but the whole garden, although small, is a fanciful spot within the village for kids to explore and people to wander during a break from all the shopping.
