Breaking Boutique Rules in Edinburgh, Scotland
Tigerlily has thrown the rule book out the window. It invites guests to "live like an 18th-century aristocrat," but does so in a bright, modern, and luxe themed hotel with mosaic mirror tiles, silver, white and glass (and that's just the reception). Rooms at the Edinburgh boutique (which become bathed in a soft fuchsia glow at dusk) have massive beds and showers big enough to dine in, and the restaurant is a sprawling maze of cosy bench nooks, crystal curtains, and sleek tables. There's even a nightclub, which attracts hip-hunting barflies like moths to the flame. Marie Antoinette would surely have approved.
