Feeding the Animals in Berkeley, California
Crossing the wooden bridge and climbing the slight hill towards the Little Farm in Tilden Park, visitors are welcomed by the unexpected sounds of bellowing cows and cantankerous roosters. Surrounded by towering eucalyptus trees, and often cloaked in the notorious bay area fog, the quaint red farmhouse is home to pigs, goats, rabbits, and chickens, just to name a few. Bring a bag of lettuce or celery—and an eager kid—and walk the perimeter slowly while offering snacks to the local residents. If you’re lucky, you might catch Farmer Stanley feeding the menagerie. Open daily 8:30-4:00.
