Noshing on Better Than Classic Diner Fare in Atlantic City, NJ
Atlantic City is awash in a sea of NYC hotspot-outposts and cattle trough-like buffets serving all you can eat spaghetti for $8.99. If you're seeking something tasty that's casual but not boring, Teplitzky's is the middle ground. Tucked away behind the Boardwalk and across the street from a somewhat-questionable hotel, Teplitzky's is part diner, part lunch counter, and all delicious charm. Classics like mac and cheese, matzoh ball soup, and burgers are handled with unpretentious aplomb, while ambitious entries like korean bbq tacos, falafel sliders, and "crab benny"—a take on eggs benedict—are consistently delicious and reasonably priced. Cocktails are plentiful and inventive, and staff is friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable.
