Gobbling Gastronomical Goodies in Tahoe City, California
You just spent the entire morning hiking. Up a mountain. At altitude. You are tired, admittedly dirty, stomach-growlingly hungry, and in luck. The Tahoe House Bakery, right off the lake in Tahoe City, would be worthy of belly room even after Thanksgiving dinner. The tiramisu is creamy, smooth, stacked high, and has a slight crunch and something extra that would make other tiramisus blush in shame. Their bagels are fresh and chewy, their sandwiches are made fresh to order, and their beautifully decorated sugar cookies are a magnet for five-year-olds and 45-year-olds alike. My advice? Come for a cinnamon roll, leave with some cake, and enjoy it on the lake.
