Sure, you could stay near home and throw down way too many beers in your local Irish pub. But as you might expect, St. Patrick's Day in Dublin takes it to another level. The nearly week-long celebration's official activities include music, street theater, family carnivals, comedy, street performances, dance, a treasure hunt, and night spectacles. These bring performers from all over Europe and the celebratory crowds aren't shy about participating in the entertainment. About 500,000 people attend the parade. Of course, the real action is in the pubs where people dress up, have a pint or twenty of Guiness, and enjoy all things Irish.
