From the Jawaharlal Nehru Tunnel as you get into Srinagar by Car you are just in awe of the whole place and believe that why it is called Heaven on Earth. The huge valley of Srinagar is the busiest place in the whole of Kashmir, with mix of Hindus and Muslims all around you surely can feel the harmony. Start off with the trip to the seven majestic gardens in Srinagar and if in summer see the amazing range of colors and the smell of the flowers. Then ride down the Dal Lake on a Shikara, to a fountain in middle of the lake for some photography in local outfit. Also try the ever special tea "Qahwa" added with salt.

The sun casts a beautiful orange shadow as you take a shikara boat ride in the evening, the mountains towering protectively over you, while you sip hot Kashmiri kahwa, a local beverage, available in the middle of the Dal Lake. Stay on a houseboat—ranging from budget to luxury—with the choicest of Indian food available at your request. Most are stationary, but if you are more adventurous, you can try your hand at riding the shikara boat. Witness the early morning grocery trading, water ski, purchase trinkets or fruits from the local sellers on boats, or feast on corn on the cob or bhajias—all while floating on the crystal clear lake.
