Stretching the Family Dollar at SkyCity Restaurant in Seattle

Here’s a little known secret: a family of four, two adults and two kids ages four to twelve, can have lunch atop the Space Needle in the rotating restaurant (elevator ride and Observation Deck included) for a mere $14 more than the cost for that same family to simply visit the O Deck. The catch? You need a reservation. Plan ahead and spin yourself silly. Actually, the SkyCity Restaurant rotates 360 degrees over the course of a meal, so you won’t feel the need to lose your lunch. Every booth and table in the restaurant abuts the window. Thus, despite your penny pinching, you’ll be assured a big spender’s view.

Skycity Restaurant at the Space Needle

“Don’t blink,” the elevator lady gestures, “you might just miss it.” Before we can think miss wha- we are shooting up towards the heavens, staring out over the beautiful Seattle skyline and glittering Puget Sound. Within nanoseconds we emerge with awe and a smile to the observation deck; which then leads down a spiral staircase to the Sky restaurant. Picturesque landscapes from every linen draped table await hungry customers. Their cuisine is best described as Asian-American chic. Try winding down the night by sharing their signature almond custard crème brûlée.
