Spying a Colony of Woodpeckers in Delaplane, Virginia
In the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains, modest Sky Meadows State Park connects the Appalachian Trail to Fauquier County’s rolling meadows and woodlands. But from its dozen miles of hiking trails and bridle paths, one stretch of only 1,600 feet is renowned amongst area birders.
