Perched on a hill off of Silverado Trail, Silverado Vineyards has one of those perfectly placed outdoor patios overlooking the rolling hills of Napa Valley. Taste estate wines for $10 (or the premier flight for $20), and take each glass outside to enjoy the panoramic view on the terrace, as well as the estate's lush, multi-step garden and vine-covered walls. On a recent visit on a warm, sunny spring day, the vineyards' 2008 Miller Ranch Sauvignon Blanc was particularly light and crisp—in addition to its flavor of peaches and scents of chamomile, the wine also includes a bit of semillon, which gives it its silky texture.
