Apres-Skiing With Great Beer and Comfort Food in Stowe, Vermont
Whether you spent the day breezing down Mt. Manfield’s Toll Road or tackling the black-diamond Nosedive, at the end of an arduous day on the slopes, The Shed is the place to unwind. Known for it’s home-brewed selection—especially the delicious Mountain Ale, and the kitschy “ski of beer” tasting—the cozy décor is a throwback to a simpler time. The light jazz and glowing fireplace of the main room strikes the perfect chord for après-ski relaxation. Comfort-food favorites abound on the menu; the ribs are a standby, as is the French onion soup. The burgers and fries draw raves, too. Me? On any slope, in any state, I stick with a good crock of (Vermont) cheddar-laden chili. The Shed’s never disappoints.
