Shawnee Mission Park provides refuge for humans and animals alike, with a large lake, wetlands, rolling hills, and dense forest and trails. From red-tailed hawks and gulls, to deer and fox, you're bound to spot wildlife while enjoying a walk or picnic on the grounds. There's something magical about capturing a deer (on camera) in its element during a quiet moment in time. In the spring and summer, you can take a boat ride on the lake or hang out on one of the many docks with your feet hanging in the water. It's simply a peaceful oasis near several big cities in Kansas.
