Redefining Blue in Central Oregon
If you thought turquoise water only existed in the Caribbean, think again. The gushing, icy-cold water of central Oregon's McKenzie River thunders down Sahalee Falls in a tone of blue that is only rivaled by the spongy green of the ubiquitous moss that surrounds it. Let the mist that rises from the base of the falls caress your face. Hike down the trail to Carmen Reservoir and watch the river as you do--you'll be rewarded by the sight of bottomless, turquoise whirlpools that bubble like jet-equipped spas.
