Poring Over the Entire City Together in Flushing, New York
The Queens Museum of Art's Panorama of the City of New York is not your typical museum exhibit, and not your typical date spot. You won't be struggling to stay awake as you read wall plaques, or stammering through faux-intellectual interpretations of the art to impress your date. Instead, you'll find yourself gushing with delight as you examine a tiny model of the entire city of New York—every building, street, bridge, and park within the five boroughs. You'll be sidling up to each other to point out the places you've been together, and to map out your future plans. When you finally wrench yourself away from the detailed miniature world, ride the 7 train back to Manhattan at sunset, and you'll glimpse another grandiose view of the skyline.
