Losing Yourself Through the Rhythms in Bali, Indonesia
You've managed to keep your sunglasses, wallet, and even your bag of chips, as you sauntered through the gauntlet avoiding the monkeys. The Puru Luhur temple is guarded by the most cunning, thieving monkeys in all of Bali, but you made it—now to find the small rock amphitheater where you can enjoy the sunset and the entertainment. The drums thump and a parade of men enter. For the next hour you are mesmerized by the performance, laughing and crying until the Monkey King is triumphant. The Kecak dance is performed every evening at the temple, about 30 kilometers south of Kuta.
