Pink’s legendary roadside hot dog shop has been a lunchtime and late-night staple in the Los Angeles for almost seventy years. Customers stand in line for up to an hour to taste one of the famous chili dogs. In addition to the traditional dogs, many of Pink's famous and often wacky concoctions are named after celebrities who frequent the restaurant. Take for example, the Martha Stewart dog topped with relish, onions, bacon, chopped tomatoes, sauerkraut and sour cream.

Pink's Famous Chili Dogs
Pink's, a beloved Hollywood landmark, has been stationed in the same spot since 1939, when it was a mere push-cart - that's 70 years, nearly as old as Hollywood itself! There's a dog for everyone at Pink's and the lines to prove it. My fave? The Nacho Cheese Chili Dog. Delish, in that fantastic dive-diner fashion. The heavenly corona of nacho cheese makes it appear as if you've been served a melted jumbo-size slab of Velveeta in a bun. I delight in the sinful feeling as I snap into my first bite, feeling the warm chili ooze from underneath the protective blanket of cheese. I take a swig of bottled soda, and I revel in this tiny slice of gluttonous heaven.
Los Angeles may be a playground for the wealthy and powerful, but it's also an excellent place to get a cheap hot dog. At Pink's Famous Hot Dogs you'll see achingly beautiful starlets and fast talking producers rub elbows while hungry teenagers argue about whether they'll be ordering a "Three Dog Night" or a "Bacon Burrito Dog." Signed celebrity photographs line the walls of the establishment, and it's not uncommon to see a Hollywood A-lister enjoying one of these artery clogging treats. Seating is limited, but it's certainly worth waiting for one of Pink's coveted tables.
