Scoring a Sensory Ten at Nunu Chocolates in Boerum Hill, Brooklyn
From the taste of a Nunu hand-dipped salt caramel, one would never suspect that Justine Pringle learned her craft on the internet. (She explains that she first started making chocolates to sweeten the deal on rock-band merchandise at her boyfriend’s gigs.) A bite of one of them leaves you pondering depths of chocolate and a slowly emerging harmony of caramel, when, suddenly, you discover a grain of fleur de sel. You walk along grimacing in rare and perfect sweet-and-salty ecstasy. I could describe the subtle Earl Grey Ganache or the modish Absinthe Delight, (try them, one and all) but do not leave Nunu’s without having a little salted caramel.
