Getting Menaced by a Mysterious Monastery in Murvica, Croatia
If the horror writer H.P. Lovecraft visited the island Brač, this might have been his tale: a few cyclists trudged along on the rocky roads, until the sky got draped in dark curtains of incoming thunderstorm. "What, what are those ruins up on the hill? They are not on our map, but surely it will be better than getting soaked!" After an hour of exploring the remains of the 15th-century clifftop monastery, with ruined staircases leading nowhere, open tombs and windows gaping like empty eye sockets, and altars blasphemed by bat crap, the group happily got soaked by a drenching thunderstorm, biking like bats out of hell back to town, rather than waiting for nightfall atop of these mountains of madness.
