Chilling Out in the Fog and Mist in Morro Bay, California
The inland weather is hot, dry, and breezy, causing the wild grasses to bend in waves. You're glad to have packed along the extra ice cooler, and that tonight you'll be seeing the stars while camping outdoors. It's only one more mile to the Morro Bay State Park campground entrance. But wait—what's that gray fog doing here at the coastline? Where does that fog horn come from? And why does it feel 30 degrees cooler, and seem so damp? Why is there such an extreme in the weather here? Forget the extra ice cooler. Now we need extra tarps, jackets, and umbrellas. Should we cancel renting a kayak, since we can't even see any of the bay? And what about the outdoor grilling we had planned for tonight? You sure don't see this on any postcards!
