Finding a Microcosm in the Median at Mill Ends Park in Portland, Oregon
If you blink, you might miss Mill Ends Park. It is hidden in plain view along one of the busier streets in downtown Portland. Many locals don't even realize they are walking by the world's smallest park. Every time I go for a visit, it is decorated differently. I've seen Occupy signs, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle figurines, and a miniature park bench at the park. I wish I could say it's a quiet oasis in the city, but it's just another piece of our history that keeps us "weird."
