Pulling Consecutive All-Nighters in Mamaia, Romania
Each year on the 1st of May (the local Labour Day)—or the weekend closest to it—Romanians from all over the country and beyond flock to the Black Sea coast for a staggering 72 hours of non-stop partying alongside some of the world's best DJs. Dance to the beats of artists like Ricardo Villalobos or Sven Väth at one of the weekend's two well-established music festivals ("Sunwaves" and "The Mission"), or at veteran nightclubs such as La Mania. Sometime around 10 am (when the evening ends), the party moves to iconic Kudos Beach, where you can then bathe in the sun while overindulging on the excellent tunes of those same DJs who had been playing all around town the night before. And as the sun sets again, brace yourself for the next 24 hours. Don't worry if it takes you about a week to recover—it will have been well worth it!
