Debating About the Better Taco in Chicago, Illinois
Locals never cease to argue over the pros and cons of the two 24-hour taquerías that begrudgingly sit side-by-side on the busy Western Ave. Lazo’s Tacos’ sprawling dining room, and evening time disco lights and booming pop/Mariachi bands makes Arturo’s Tacos—with its rock-hard booths and Mexican soap operas on a tiny TV— seem like a crusty Tijuana dive. Arturo’s boasts stronger, bigger margaritas and overall better prices, but they’ve got nothing on Lazo’s succulent al pastor. Try a taco at each and be sure to hone the points of your argument.
