Pool Partying During the Day in Las Vegas

Yes, it’s hot out there. So hot, even the straps of a bikini can hurt. Problem solved at the Wynn, Palms, Venetian, Mirage, Caesar’s Palace, Hard Rock resorts, where as the day wears on and the daiquiris go down, clothing is no longer an option. In the city that takes it off in front of all, Euro-bathing clubs routinely bring in the TMZ types who ensure that all eyes are on them. Admission fees of $10 to $50 often go to the guys -- while girls usually slip past the velvet rope gratis -- but cabana costs will easily leak a grand or two from the coffers. You need not get soaked to get wet, however; lounge chairs can be free, as are cold towels and refreshing spritzes.

The Mirage Volcano

A Las Vegas Icon. As the first of the Mega Resorts, The Mirage set the tone for the new era of Las Vegas hotels. On the hour each evening, passers-by are greeted with the familiar fire and flame from the unmistakable volcano set on Las Vegas Boulevard. Behind the fire and flames lie the home to such memorable acts as Siegfried and Roy, The Beatles: LOVE, and the Mirage Habitat.

If you could take just one photo: Mirage

When you travel to Las Vegas the first thing you see the moment your plane touches down on the runway is hotels/casinos. They are everywhere you turn and each one has a unique theme. My first trip to Las Vegas I was booked at the Mirage hotel/casino. It is perhaps best known as being the home to the famous Sigfried and Roy who often put on shows there. In front of the casino is what looks like a huge volcano. Every night the volcano erupts putting on quite a show. Their is also an actual zoo out back along with white tigers used in the magic shows.

Not too many places allow you to Walk on Water. But, at the Mirage in Las Vegas, Nevada, Anything is Possible. If you like light shows, consider this a personal one, tailored just for you - Making sure that you experience the fulfillment of All Colors of the Rainbow. Find yourself mesmerized by the walkway meant to Inspire Love, Change, and Music in your everyday life. Bare
Mirage

Just 250 people can wiggle their way into Mirage’s Bare Pool Lounge, by far the smallest of the day-time party pools in Sin City. Nothing like a little exclusivity to stoke this city’s scenester insecurity—which means lines stretching down the sun-scorched Strip are standard. So get there early, spend lavishly (weekdays are $10 for women, $20 for men; weekends are $10 for women, $40 for men; more if you ever want to sit), and soak up some giddy undeserved ostentation. Because when you’re in at Bare, you’re in—welcome to a wonderful world where tan-lines are frowned upon (skeez tip: ladies who respond accordingly--that is, toplessly--to pleas to "release the twins" get free shots). This is one place where all that exclusivity matters. This means private daybeds and cabanas with poolside pampering like, say, icy rolled towels saturated with scented water (rose, with a hint of fabulous), cucumbers for eyes aching from all the painfully-alluring partygoers, and super-chilled Evian spritzing bottles, because you can't titillate with tap water. It’s all yours—if, of course, a food-and-drink tab north of $600 on weekdays (double that on weekends) is what you’d happily drop on a couple unlucky rolls at the craps table.

Mirage

The MGM Mirage’s new “hair apparent,” gossip show darling Kim Vo earned the moniker of “Makeover King” from the biggest salons in Hollywood; clients like Kate Hudson, Kim Cattrall, and Angela Bassett swear by him for his paintbrush swishes and strips, and his hair-caressing products have garnered an exclusive presence at Barney’s. Sporting a Carnaby Street-meets-Studio 16 appeal in wide-open spaces decked in black, whites and yellows, Vo's new hair lair at the Mirage offers “mojito hairtinis” for thirsty manes and “bayalage” hair painting treatments, administered by the King himself every Monday.
