Appreciating Larrabee State Park's Sculpted Landscape in California
It would be easy to slip your feet into the beach's cooled pebbles. Breaking off from the path, though, leads you to a gallery of curious forms. Madrona trees cling to the cliffs, rooted in place in a perpetual contortion. Platforms of sandstone bring you to the water's edge, sections pitted with holes or shorn smooth by nature's toolkit. Driftwood turned white nestles in the rocks. Looking out, the panorama takes in the nearby bays and islands while a glimpse below may steal a look at sea stars or other watery denizens.
