Making Everything Better With La Vic's Orange Sauce in San Jose, CA

Downtown San Jose is a suit and student town, which makes cheap fast food a focus for many restaurants here. The next time you’re stuck in this culinary vortex, there is a simple way to ride it out. La Victoria Taquería (on the north side of the SJSU campus) makes a mystery orange sauce that students claim will magically transform all foods for the tastier. Customers were known to steal the sauce containers off the tables until the restaurant wised up and decided to sell it to the general public. Sauce security is tighter now, too; the ladies working the counter will chase you down if you try to pull a fast one. But for a sauce that is memorable enough to warrant its own Facebook fan page, you’re better off shelling out the $6 to get your own supply.
