Lingering Over Pizza at a Gourmet Corner Store in Phoenix, Arizona

La Grande Orange has a delicious identity problem. Tucked away in the quiet Arcadia neighborhood of North Phoenix, this half eatery/half artisan grocery is the kind of spot that unleashes your inner bohemian. The best time to visit is Friday through Sunday, when the pizzeria is in full swing churning out delectable pies such as The Gladiator, with local-favorite Schreiner’s sausage, or my regular, The Rocket Man with red chiles and broccolini. Grab a craft beer or fine wine from the store’s cooler and dine on the misted patio, where you can seek refuge from Phoenix’s triple-digit heat. For the full experience, don't leave without a fresh French baguette from MJ Breads—it's the perfect treat for the trip home.
