Kayaking Past Seal Pups Out of King Harbor in Redondo Beach, CA
Baby seal pups bob playfully around your paddles as you navigate your kayak past the live feed barge, piled high with the pups’ parents soaking up the sun, and out of King Harbor Marina. Heading beyond the break and into the waves of Redondo Beach’s ocean can be a bit tense, but once you get the feel for the sea’s gentle sweep, the going is easy. If the water is calm, it is worth the several-mile paddle to the hidden gem that is the Palos Verdes Cove. If not, just rolling with the tides, watching the dolphins, and checking out the colorful Redondo Beach Esplanade from the ocean is just as satisfying.
