Breathing in the Fog at Kehoe Beach, California
The thunder of waves—blanketed by the muffling mists—is reflected by the towering cliffs of sandstone and granite, their tops lost in the fog. A quietness and loneliness closes in, one that lets you touch the soul of the world. The enveloping blankets of fog give the gift of solitude. The sun is an unwanted illusion as you stroll through an unpeopled world. And then there are the sunny days out here at Point Reyes National Seashore, which can be pretty groovy too. Kehoe Beach is that classic mix of California silky sand and rugged rock, with that more-than-classic Northern California fog.
