Paddling the Stress Away on the Bantam River in Connecticut

For a day filled with birds chirping, whistling trees, and water swooshing by your kayak, stop by Oakville’s Connecticut Outdoors, located in the historic Old Pin Shop, where you can rent kayaks made for one or two people. The "Bantam Shuttle" delivers your kayaks to the shores of Connecticut’s peaceful Bantam River for a delightful afternoon of relaxation. Owner David Farber will give you a map, make suggestions for paddle routes and answer any question you may have about the area, from food to hotels. Canoes are also available.

Rocky neck beach

In a place where the the noise of daily traffic and frustrated citizens is replaced by rolling waves and singing gulls. Rocky Neck is an escape from the stresses of our every day lives. It's a place where regardless of your preferences on relaxation, you're able to find peace through the various opportunities on the beach. And as the sun sets on a beautiful day, the view isn't anything less than priceless.
