Exploring an Island's Volcanic Past
Jeju-Do, a beautiful island located south west of the Korean mainland, is so full of things to see that even settling on one nickname is a challenge. It is known for many things, including mild climate, quirky theme parks (such as Loveland), being a top honeymoon destination, its legends and gods, "haenyo" or sea ladies, strong winds, and stunning landscapes. The list goes on. Perhaps the most signature characteristic of Jeju however, is it's volcanic past. Spectacular rock formations created from antique volcanic activity are scattered all across Jeju and have made this island the wonder that it is.
