Unwinding at Inn of the Spanish Garden in Santa Barbara, California
Just a few blocks off State Street, this 23-room luxury hotel celebrates Santa Barbara’s Spanish roots with colonial details from red-tile roofs to courtyard fountains, arches and ornate ironwork. In-room amenities, on the other hand, are decidedly modern, including Frette linens, gas fireplaces, Molton Brown bath products, and deep soaking tubs. Thankfully, the complimentary continental breakfast is also an update to the ubiquitous packaged-pastry shelf and includes decadent options like quiche and frittata along with fruit, bread, cereal and granola. Although not complimentary, the evening wine bar is worth a visit.
