Reviving the Mod Spirit by the Seaside in Brighton
The huge target sign on the bedspread, the scooter wing mirrors hanging off each side of the mirror, the Keith Moon pop art on the walls–all this can mean only one thing: you’re staying in the Modrophenia room of the Hotel Pelirocco. Ever since Phil Daniels and Toyah Wilcox descended on the Sussex seaside town in 1973 for Quadrophia’s tale of war between the mods and rockers, Brighton has been famed for rock and roll debauchery. Its proximity to London (close enough for a day trip but far enough that what happens in Brighton, stays) has given it naughty weekend status and nowhere caters for that better than the Pelirocco.
