Skipping Along the Hellbrunner Allee in Salzburg, Austria
This amazing road is lined with beautiful old trees that accompany you from just behind the old city of Salzburg to the Hellbrunn Palace. If you walk the Allee going south, you will be rewarded with wonderful views, including vistas of the above regal Untersberg Mountain. Be sure to sing like Maria did as you pass the house that was used in parts of the movie "The Sound of Music. " Bicycle riding is also popular and you can rent one at the Salzburg train station. Beautiful at anytime of year, I am partial to summer, when the trees are full and provide a cool canopy for your sojourn. Be sure to tour the Palace when you arrive and see the many trick water fountains. If you have the energy, continue your walk on the Palace grounds or take the convenient bus back to the center of town.
