Heli-Skiing (or Boarding) at Whistler in British Columbia
It's everywhere, from mainstream movies like Vin Diesel's "XXX" to semi-pro videos shot with a hand-held video camera: a helicopter hovers over the pristine, untracked snow at the tippy-top of a mountain. Then some crazy, cool bastard leaps out, crouched over a snowboard or pair of skis, and cuts a new trail in the fresh powder. It turns out anyone comfortable with the intermediate-level "blue" runs (and nerves of steel) can give heli-skiing or -boarding a go at Whistler's Blackcomb ski resort. The draw of untouched snow could be enough to bring out the brazen boarder or skiier waiting to be set free on top of a mountain.
