Replenishing My Soul Below the Hanakapiai Waterfall in Kauai, Hawaii
As the current of the falls coerced me towards the mist and rain pouring off the cliff, all the stress from the strenuous hike released from my limbs. When the returning hikers had reassured us that the Hanakapi'ai Falls were worth the 4-mile uphill battle, my burning muscles found their words less than encouraging. It wasn't until I dove into the refreshing pool below the cascade that I was able to agree with them. The adrenaline of the rushing water, the sweet scent of mango trees, and the tranquil hum of the thick woods erased all complaints from the hike.
