If you could take just one photo: The Fat Lady
The Neolithic Ħal Saflieni Hypogeum labyrinth is part of the Maltese underground culture… give or take a few thousand years. It was discovered in 1902 by stonemasons excavating a well. Sir Temi Żammit, the first Director of Malta's Museums Department, took charge. Carbon dating places it at around 2500 B.C. Part natural, part hewn and reinforced with great blocks of local globigerina limestone, it was an oracle, a sanctuary, a communal place and a cemetery—the anthropological precursor of Facebook. This UNESCO World Heritage Site has a microclimate meticulously maintained through the use of state-of-the-art equipment.
