Strolling Through Two Seas in Skagen, Denmark
Just outside of Skagen, the cute-yellow-house capital of the world (and northernmost town in Denmark), lies a remarkable natural attraction. In town, board the Sandormen bus out to Grenen (The Branch), a sandy stretch of land that juts out into the water where the Skagerrak Sea meets the Kattegat. Amble along the headland and watch as the waves from one sea lazily roll into the other, washing gently over your toes as they meet. The clear, cold water and bracing sea air make this a refreshing moment on a hot summer’s day trip. Mastering two seas is hungry work, so be sure to eat lunch afterwards at one of the many excellent fish shops in Skagen's charming harbor.
