Visitors enter Dubai's world famous Gold Souk through two large wooden gates to come upon a stunning selection of earrings, pendants, bracelets, watches, rings, and necklaces in 18 and above 22 carat gold. More than 275 jewelers display over 25 tons of glittering gold in their shop windows in the space of half a square kilometer. With some of the lowest gold prices in the world, and priced by weight rather than design, Dubai's gold comes in all shades (white, rose, dark yellow) as well as various designs, and styles. The souk also sells precious stones and pearls and other jewelry. Shops have their own craftsman on site who can make any necessary same-day adjustments. Haggling is tradition here, and bargaining for lower prices is part of the fun. Walking away with a treasure chest is not unheard of!
