I finally had an opportunity to go to Garrett Mountain Reservation on a day that was perfect photography. My original plan was to find Lambert castle and spend the time shooting the building and the surrounding grounds. It is a different set of driving direction if you want to find the Castle, it is not part of the reservation or there are no roads from the reservation leading to the Castle property that I could find. I decided to drive around the reservation “to see what we could see.” At the very top of Garrett Mountain there is an architectural landmark that I never knew about. Rook Tower. The observation tower is part of the Lambert Family estate and offers excellent views from the base of the tower. While it is obvious that a restoration project has been completed I am not sure if access to the observation deck is being offered to the public yet.September 27, 2012 Like Add a Comment
