Supporters of the farm-to-table movement in Vermont find a locavore haven at the Farmhouse Tap & Grill, one of Burlington’s best gastropubs. The taproom offers 24 beers on draught, including many local brews unavailable elsewhere. Special events, such as "Beer Loves Cheese" night, pair up local artisan food producers like the Hill Farmstead Brewery. If you’re lucky, you’ll sample the brewer’s tasty tribute to his family: Edward, Edith, Florence, Earl—brews named respectively after Grandfather, Grandfather’s sisters, and Grandfather’s brother. The Earl, a rich oatmeal stout blended with organic Guatemalan coffee; it pairs perfectly with Constant Bliss, an aptly named, creamy cow’s milk cheese from another neighborhood producer, the Jasper Hill Farm.
