Assembling a Moveable Feast in Oregon's Willamette Valley
Travelers cruising the backroads of the Willamette Valley can enjoy quite the spread of local seasonal products purchased at roadside farm stands. In fact, it's possible to eat your way north to south without ever stepping into a restaurant or grocery store. Farm-to-fork opportunities are found along roadsides throughout the valley, with fresh edibles readily available to add to your movable feast or to take home to enjoy. Some farmers even invite you into their fields, where, with bucket or basket in-hand, you can pick everything from fresh berries, squash, and apples to corn, beans, and heirloom tomatoes. Beyond the bounty of produce available, you'll also find dahlias, tulips, lavender, and sunflowers, herbs, artisan cheese, eggs, honey, meat products, fish, and nursery items.
