Seeking Solace By the Falling Waters in Chipley, Florida
Just a few miles away from the high-speed traffic of Interstate Highway 10 in the Florida panhandle, Falling Waters State Park offers an unexpected respite from the road. A quiet walk through pine and oak forest leads to the refreshing sound and sight of Florida's highest waterfall, where the waters sparkle as they drop some seventy feet into a limestone sinkhole that leads to an underground aquifer. Where do the waters emerge? No one has figured that out yet, but you may find the sound of the waters so enticing you’d like to stay for a while. There are campsites available, if you do.
