Feeling the Disco Beat of the Trishaws in the Dutch Quarter, Melaka
Though you catch glimpses of them all over the city, it is the town square where they come into their own. Against the backdrop of the rosy hues of the Dutch Quarter, the trishaws are a kaleidoscope of colour, light, and sound as they wait to ferry tourists around Melaka. Covered in bright plastic flowers, and shaded with colorful umbrellas, each one zips past with its own personal soundtrack blaring out into the street. The windmill, the fountains, and the impressive Dutch Quarter, can almost make you forget you're in Asia, until the trishaws whizz by, reminding you that Asia is exactly where you are, and the contrasting history of South East Asia is all around you.
