Dallying at Dilly's Corner in Center Bridge, Pennsylvania
Winter’s hard enough without the wait for Dilly’s to reopen in March. King of treats on Route 32 by the bridge to Stockton, NJ, it’s the spot for après canal hiking or river tubing or shooting the breeze. But be forewarned: in summer’s crush the wait is long to order at the small hut’s window and longer still for pick up once you spy your first Dilly Dog. A huge tube of meat on a torpedo roll slathered with sautéed peppers, onions, and crispy french fries, it’s way too big for a mouth of any size. While all the other offerings are just as fine, we go to Dilly’s ‘cause the hot dog’s divine.
